While having attended more than 28 years ago as a pre-dental student, visiting the campus and especially the Cox science building brought back so many incredible memories.
The panel discussed the following questions:
What motivated me into the field of dentistry?
In my case it’s the fact that my father is a retired dentist and I was able to experience early on the incredible privilege that it was to develop friendships with your patients and at the same time directly improve the quality of their lives.
What contributed to my success in gaining entrance into a reputable dental school?
Besides having a good academic record, what I found to be important was showing a clear ethic of hard work and determination. An attitude of” giving “instead of “receiving” as well as sincerity during interviews. Show what makes you different and unique.
What has contributed to my success in private practice?
All of the above yet despite having been blessed with a very busy practice and acquiring a great partner in Dr. Lamas…..I have always wanted every patient to feel as if they were our ONLY patient!

It turns a recession case that otherwise would have been a lengthy and painful process into a single visit procedure without any surgery whatsoever on the palate. Not having to perform surgery on the palate means eliminating the greater risk of post operative bleeding and pain associated with the more traditional free gingival graft or sub epithelial connective tissue graft which rely on the roof of the mouth. The results with Alloderm have been documented as consistently successful and my personal experience has been the same having treated recession cases with the material over the last 12 years.

If you don’t find someone in you area, please let us know. We are centrally located and only 10-15 minutes away from Miami Beach. We are experienced in the All-on-4 protocol and we will explore options of saving your natural teeth through laser or other periodontal procedures if at all possible. Although the procedure could be incredibly life changing, All-on-4 is not for everyone. There are pros and cons to the procedure depending on what your current dental status is. We will make sure to explore all factors that will contribute to whether you are a suitable candidate.
