Full Replacement

If you are missing all of your teeth, an implant-supported full bridge or denture can replace them. Dental implants will replace both your lost natural teeth and some of the roots.

What are the advantages of implant-supported full bridges and implant-supported dentures over conventional dentures?

Before Dental Implants After 1 appointment for Dental Implants

Dental implants provide many advantages over other replacement options. In addition to looking and functioning like natural teeth, implant-supported full bridges or dentures are designed to be long lasting. Implant-supported bridges and dentures also are more comfortable and stable than conventional dentures, allowing you to retain a more natural biting and chewing capacity.

Your bone is better preserved because implant-supported bridges and dentures will replace some of your missing tooth roots. With conventional dentures , the bone that previously surrounded the tooth root may begin to resorb (deteriorate). Dental implants integrate with your jawbone, helping to keep the bone healthy and strong.

In the long term, implants are esthetic, functional and comfortable. Gums and bone can deteriorate around a fixed bridge or removable partial denture, leaving a visible defect. Damaged bone beneath bridges or removable partial dentures can lead to facial collapse as well as an unattractive smile. The loss of bone that accompanies conventional dentures leads to recession of the jawbone and significant facial collapse, making it difficult and painful to eat certain foods. Dentures can move around in the mouth affecting speech and social behavior.

In the long term, implants are more natural and easier to maintain than conventional dentures.

Fixed crown and bridge
supported by implants is the treatment option that is most like having natural teeth. Six or more implants are placed, and the teeth are securely fastened to the implants using cement or by precision screws. Fixed bridges are not removable.
Implant bar
supported dentures feature clips that attach the denture to a bar connected to the implants. This design provides stability and support for the denture. The bar supported denture can be removed daily for proper cleaning.
dentures are anchored securely onto two or more implants by attachments in the denture. The denture snaps securely onto the implants, but can be removed daily for proper cleaning.

All-On-4 Dental Implants

All on 4 is another non-removable dental implant option designed to maximize the use of available bone with just 4 implants per dental arch. What's most surprising to patients is that the teeth can be attached to the implants the same day! The patient comes to the office in the morning and leaves in the afternoon ready to smile, laugh and eat.
