Dr. Gallardo is invited to the University of Miami panel discussion in February for pre-dental university students. What a great experience to visit my alma mater U of M. While having attended more than 28 years ago as a pre-dental student, visiting the campus and especially the Cox science building brought back so many incredible memories.
The panel discussed the following questions:
What motivated me into the field of dentistry?
In my case it’s the fact that my father is a retired dentist and I was able to experience early on the incredible privilege that it was to develop friendships with your patients and at the same time directly improve the quality of their lives.
What contributed to my success in gaining entrance into a reputable dental school?
Besides having a good academic record, what I found to be important was showing a clear ethic of hard work and determination. An attitude of” giving “instead of “receiving” as well as sincerity during interviews. Show what makes you different and unique.
What has contributed to my success in private practice?
I have always wanted every patient to feel as if they were our ONLY patient!
